Meet Your Therapist

Hi there, I’m glad you’re here!

My name is Doralis (she/her/ella) and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based in Chicago, Illinois.

I am proud to have grown up in Puerto Rico, surrounded by the warmth of the Caribbean and the collectivistic values of my people. Now I get to call the amazing city of Chicago, IL. my second home, where I have experienced being surrounded by welcoming and diverse communities. My upbringing and subsequent life experiences inform how I approach the therapeutic relationship.

As a therapist, I value how your environment and life experiences have shaped who you are and the challenges you face. Mental health can be affected by current events, systemic oppression, financial difficulties, the political climate, traumatic events, fundamentalist religious harm, colonialism/imperialism, and other issues that may be impacting your life. I welcome all these topics and acknowledge how these experiences, whether they be individual or intergenerational, can influence how we navigate the world.

I’m passionate about working with young adults experiencing relational, academic or professional life transitions, survivors of religious/spiritual harm, folks navigating acculturation challenges due to being immigrants or children of immigrants, neurodivergent folks navigating early childhood or late diagnosis, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

During our time together, I will work alongside you to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe being vulnerable, honest, and unafraid to be yourself, while learning how to translate that outside of therapy. I look forward to being a part of your support system as you embark in this healing journey.
